I'm Home!!!!!

I just got back from a week long vacation on my very own. I went to New York to visit my sister, Sherri and her family. It was so gorgeous there and COOL!!!! I did not miss the 115 degree heat for one single moment. We hung out and watched the Olympics, made some cute projects, went to a concert in the park, played with the kids, shopped, visited family and ate out a lot! My other sister, Lori and her family flew in from Florida the last day I was there so it was fun to get to see them too!
Sherri is quite the crafty one so we made a few books while I was there and now I just need to put pictures in them. So fun! She always has a fun new project to show me!

Her youngest, Aidan, got a Knight's costume while I was there. He decided it was fun to "sword" with everyone but he didn't quite understand that even though the sword was plastic it hurt when you got whacked with it! So, after watching Kevin get beat up pretty good, when I was asked to "sword" I claimed I was a princess and he was supposed to save me from the mean dragon. He found his stuffed dragon and proceeded to "kill" it with his plastic sword and then told me he saved me, "Princess Kathy" from the dragon. My Hero!!!!!! So, so cute!

Aidan and Alexis also made Kami a darling little necklace with "pixie dust" in it to bring her good luck. (Kami almost always went with me when I met up with them and they missed her terribly!) She wore it to work for the last 2 days and loves it because it came from them! I wish I would have thought to take a picture of it before I gave it to her!

Little Miss Addie entertained us all. She is such a cutie and she danced and played until she dropped. She is such a happy little baby-this was the first time I met this little niece of mine.

The bonus of the trip was that I was able to start and finish Breaking Dawn. (I was waiting so I could read it on the plane.) It was great- hardly any interruptions! And the very best part was that my house was CLEAN when I got home! Thanks Honey!!

Happy Anniversary!

I can't believe it has been a year since my daughter and son in law got married! Life sure seems a lot calmer than it did back then! We had a missionary return and a wedding all in a 2 week span. Not to mention my father in law was in the hospital and I managed to have a surprise pregnancy and miscarriage. Yes, life is MUCH calmer now!

These newlyweds have had an interesting first year but I know that they will be stronger because of the challenges that they have faced. I'm going to give a few words of wisdom for them here (can't get in trouble when you write it)
1. Always put each other FIRST
2. Listen to each other and be willing to compromise
3. Don't cut each other down- even to other people
4. Pray together daily
5. Go to the temple often
6. Date night is a must!
7. Keep the sparks alive
8. Live within your budget!
9. Stay close to your Heavenly Father
10.Grandchildren welcome! :)

I wish you magical years ahead of you. Stay close to each other!

The gang!

I came across this picture taken from Cory's birthday that I didn't know or at least forgot that I had. This is the whole gang! Alyssa (Matt's girlfriend), Matt, Vaughn, Kami and Cory (front and center) I love these guys so much!

It seems like we have a revolving door at our house. There is always someone coming or going. You definitely can't walk around the house without being fully dressed cuz you never know who might be visiting. Sometimes in the mornings there is an extra body on the floor of the family room or on the couch since Cory's friends are here many a night playing guitar hero.

I can't imagine what life is going to be like in another year when they are all gone. I'm really not looking forward to it. I think the quiet might kill me!

Ok- so funny story!!!!

My apologies everyone! Remember my post on my son's skateboard wipe out? Well, story stands true but...pictures aren't of him. ROFLOL!!!!! When I found the pictures on the computer I was frustrated because I had been asking him to send me pictures so that I could post them on my blog. He had sent me one on his phone but it didn't turn out so good so I never posted. Then last night I found these pictures and assumed they were of his wipe out. But this morning I was looking more carefully and remembered his wreck was at night and he doesn't keep his keys on his belt loop AND he is much TANNER than in the picture. HMMMM.... guess what? One of Cory's friends had a wipe out too and those were HIS pictures! Too funny! Anyway, you can still feel sorry for Matt and the picture with the "paddle" at the bottom of the page really is of Matt.
Oh Boy- I really messed up good this time!

Can you say OUCH?

Well- All the men in my house are obsessed with their skateboards. Cory had one before we left to go to Cali but Rod and Matt both bought boards when we were there. Matt's friend Jasper had to join in the fun too. This is the collection of boards that you see as you enter my front room. Yes, It has become the MAN ROOM. It seems like every night they go out late to go boarding. Remember- we're in AZ! Nobody in their right mind would do that in the middle of the day in August!

Anyway, not long ago Matt came home pretty late (I was already in bed) wanting to know where my camera was. I was dead asleep and mumbled something incoherent. An hour later I got up because there seemed to be a lot of commotion going on downstairs for that late at night. Apparently Matt was going down a hill and went full speed into a sand bag and of course went flying. Here is the damage...

I'm not sure but I think the board won this battle!
He has now resorted to using this when he goes out...

Boys NEVER grow up! Gotta love 'em!
